Inspiration


With being a crafter the hardest part is always. What to make and how to be inspired? Sometimes you may think that it needs to have some profound meaning and message. Other times your just "making it." However, you dont have the desire or passion the only purpose is a pay check. 

Of course if your crafting for money getting paid is important. Especially considering this hobby is on the expensive side. Ultimately dont hesitate to try, just because its fun. 

The past few weeks Ive been on the "relaxed side," because I probably over did it the week before Christmas. I dont feel bad about because "I was having fun." While I have been relaxing of course the ideas have been storming. How the flag design came to be. The painted version is beautiful. Now how do it comes alive with wood. Still figuring that out. 

Now the reason behind the photo. I have been pondering and doodling different ideas. It go to the point of "let's play." I tend to fiddle with my hands. So with not being able to draw the idea im envisioning, let's find another way. I used the stage fabric to explore different organic shapes, and elegance. Of course will it be duplicated for a project. Who know. Will I want to duplicate it exactly, no because its not fun. 

I have been pondering different ideas. One idea in the works is, writing down the steps to my thought process. How I come up with projects and to start to execute them?

Considering doing a geometry like clock face. With organic look behind. Rock face is possible as well.

How I started

       After doing research and ordering chisels I wanted to try. The process continued. The first question I asked myself was “what do I want to achieve?” The simple question of “what to make?” Through research and pondering ideas what usually comes to mind is sculptures. Sculptures are and can be breathtaking to look at. Unknowing to people is the amount of effort, skill, and tools required. I had many factors to consider for what to make, but the biggest one was “sculptures can need a good amount of space.” Do not get me wrong, they are beautiful and lovely to look at.
