The Sunshine pendant (and video)

 This necklace pendant was interesting to make. When I first started, I really only had a "kind of" idea I wanted for the boarder. The rest was "on the fly" sort of thing. I wanted it to look like multiple pieces which were "pieced together." The pictures are snapshots I took from the video. I have an idea for creating an "execution idea" Which I example and teach a process. However, in my mind that sounds kind of boring. The idea is still not dead. However, it is taking more brainstorming because I want to make it interesting and of course "to the point." Well enjoy these pictures and the video is at the end of page. 



This photo is showing laying out the dove tale lines. So that I know what area needs to be removed. I of course made sure to color what part I wanted to removed. Because with more line can equal "more confusion." 


On the 2 side, I for whatever reason. A weave look is pretty cool. The math is of course all free hand and "what looks good in the moment." Because, I love the creative factor of "making things in the moment." 


I am using a very small straight cut bit. To cut and define the end points.


Alot of times in the project is having to "just stare," and ponder different options. Yes, this should have been an earlier picture. I just imported and the order "just happened." 


You reached the point of the video. Enjoy the video. Remember despite how frustrating at times building and creating things can be.  Remember to be patient, take each step one at a time. Most importantly you never know unless you try, success however, may take longer then expect. Because you're patient, you learn, you cherish your progress, and treasure the journey. 
Because, I personally know. Its fun to be creative, random, and challenging yourself to have an adventure.

How I started

       After doing research and ordering chisels I wanted to try. The process continued. The first question I asked myself was “what do I want to achieve?” The simple question of “what to make?” Through research and pondering ideas what usually comes to mind is sculptures. Sculptures are and can be breathtaking to look at. Unknowing to people is the amount of effort, skill, and tools required. I had many factors to consider for what to make, but the biggest one was “sculptures can need a good amount of space.” Do not get me wrong, they are beautiful and lovely to look at.
